Where is Our Spring

Where is our Spring?
The sunshine and the falling rain
Where is our Spring?
The touch of warmth that it will bring
the tulips blooming near the lane
the smell of blossoms here again
Where is our Spring?

  1. This works beautifully with this form. Longing and need perfectly expressed. And I think it is here in NC

  2. good question! i am shivering today, while wearing a sweater and a wool skirt!
but, we know Spring *will* arrive. it's good to have some certainty, isn't it?

  4. Spring must be very late if it has not been felt by April.

  5. It seems spring is a fickle lady this year. Nice work!

  6. Having the refrain as a question works so well. And those tulips enlarged..well. Aren't they lovely with that tiny red edging.

  7. An excellent rondelet--and I echo the sentiment. It only seems to warm up long enough to lure out the blossoms, then freeze them again.

  9. I must tell you that this poem was perfect for my 'today' ... it snowed, it rained, the sun came out, we had a bit of sleet ... and now, everything is back to normal. However, spring has not come to Central Oregon yet.

  12. I agree with Aprille. Brilliant idea making the refrain a recurring question!
Yesterday's snow is gone here, and the sky is a lovely blue, but we're still getting deer coming into town to forage for fallen fruit under our ornamental crabapple tree. Spring will be next month in Alberta.
