во имя мира

"for the sake of Mira"

hidden in the belly of the whale
Cetus
I would mirror your journey
floating in the weightless
sea of the cosmos

 playing hide and seek
showing only at intervals
as we wait with bated breath
for you to appear

Through your luminous tail
you shed your offspring
into the waiting galaxy

You are ancient
and
fading away

soon to leave
only a nebula
hiding a
white dwarf

"ellecee"

(translation #2)

"for the sake of the world"
ships are launched
into the weightless sea
of the cosmos
exploring the galaxies
looking for our
new home

"ellecee"

Izzy's challenge for today
"Use as many of the below images to write a poem"
These are images from Russian Sci Fi posters.

It turns out that the poster I chose has two translations
The first is the one I found first and put my heart into
The second I found later and is probably the quotation
that actually goes with the poster. Who knew?
Please enjoy both.

I've provided two links to Mira - my muse today

  3. Oh I so admire that you managed to connect it to the real deal... maybe the two versions are not too different though... really a cool one.

  4. Oh this is amazing! I struggled with the prompt. I created nothing like this.

  5. I like this, especially:
    "Through your luminous tail
    you shed your offspring
    into the waiting galaxy"

  6. I love both pieces that you have posted. In the first, I really liked the way you tied the whale and space-sea together. Just fabulous work there. The second is very lyrical and moving. Well done on all accounts! Thanks for posting to the out of standard!

  8. Both poems seem to complement each other, almost like an answering dialogue. Very clever.

  9. Wow...love the cosmic depth to this...and this:

    "Through your luminous tail
    you shed your offspring
    into the waiting galaxy

    You are ancient"

    really stood out, for me.
