Confession

My knees should be bloodied
except my confessional
lies in my mind
pictured thus:

empty
candles glowing
latticed window
open
to the other side
pen and paper

as if I would
write them down

all those
errors of omission

  4. Never ever on paper... like leaving a trail of evidence... a fingerprint of sorts. I wonder if it's cost-obsession to replace the priest by emptiness.

  7. I'm often haunted the most by my errors of omission -- all the things I should have done and said. Nicely done!

  8. It's bad enough to have to speak them aloud - write them down? Oh God no! Nice capture of the pen and paper.

  11. Yes, I would not want to ink my confessions..Sort of an oxymoron considering the title of my blog. At least I won't pin my darkest secrets.

  13. So a selective confession could be a safe option. An interesting one.

  14. A clever poem - omitting omissions - very few people truly have enough 'sins' to end up with bloody knees - i doubt very much that you are one of them - even knowing you through the blog i feel kindness and goodness
