Mrs. Folks

Diminutive woman

Reluctant mother

Widow

Forced through chaos
to awareness

Growing toward autonomy

Nineteenth century dignity

pitted against

twentieth century crass

Bridging the gap

Sometimes frightened

Often lonely

Branching out

Determined to do life well

Pioneer spirit

In her groove

  1. Oh!❤️💜This is such a deep and eloquent write, Linda! A most beautiful and touching tribute to your mother. Especially resonate with these lines; "Bridging the gap, sometimes frightened, often lonely, branching out determined to do life well. Pioneer spirit in her groove." Thank you so much for participating at Prompt Nights and for your constant love and support❤️💜
