Darn

More's the pity,

gone again

A killing frost this dawn
impales my budding plants
sown before May's full moon

Some things never change

  3. Nope. Just when it seems all the flowers are out and happy, another killing frost comes. Such sadness.

  4. I must say - the frost certainly gave you an amazing photo opportunity!

  5. Haste and impatience? it does a soul great things to hope and play the odds, but the deck is always stacked, and mother nature will always hold the winning hand .... much to the disappointment of the moment of loss. Such as it is - still, there is a beauty within the frosted dark/light, even if it's only temporary and it may all have to be scrapped.

  7. Similar to what's happening in my poem! Spring will come (for both of us), I'm sure.

  8. I relate to this one, L.C. You told it well, in well under 100 words. Two years in a row we've had a hard killing frost. Last year it killed a palm tree and quite a few perennial flowering plants, plus bushes, etc.

  13. Ha, clever and succinct use of the words. (And the sentiments very understandable.)
