Ellecee

I am an inveterate troll
pudgy and hoary
grubbing around in my
subterranean hollows
in search of earthy songs,
to begin the first round
in my resounding alto voice
unaware of any who may follow
with the second.
A complaintive tone follows me
my joy lying underground
subdued, but, ever present,
awaiting release
when a summer sun's warmth
invades
my hollows

My preferred definition of a troll :-)
".a troll is a supernatural creature with a body of any size, closely associated with nature, who likely eats fish, moves around a lot and often in circles in a regular range, who sings a great deal, often in praise and celebration (of each other or Earth herself), but always loudly and without inhibition, in complex cycles in close cooperation with other such creatures, in rolling voices, with all eventually signing different parts of the song at the same time, probably driving everyone who doesn't want to listen to them completely nuts. This is the generic troll" Troll

  3. I love your image of trolls... I grew up with the stories of these creatures and the paintings by John Bauer (google them... you will love them)..

  5. Wonderful trope here about working where things root and take hold. This so makes us value ground work.
