Not it? What then?

 Ordinary living
Breakfast, lunch, dinner,

Wine,, beer, espresso,

Sleeping, waking, working

No job? OK not that then

Washing up, cleaning,

laundry, no pods, bad

for the kids,

No kids? OK, not that then

TV, tablet, computer, IPhone

Everybody always on

No IPhone? OK, not  that then

Watching movies, best actress,

best  actor, drama, romcom,

Theatres closed, no Netflix, no Prime?

OK, not that then

Partner, husband, wife, conjugal sex,

Single, hookup, boyfriend, girlfriend

No love life? OK, not that then

Walking, running, swimming,

Roller blades, scooter, skate board?

No? Not that then

So, what then?

What’s it then?

Ordinary life

Homeland

Her homeland

A world within her

imagination

A place with amazing

aquamarine waters and

an azure sky

Viewed from her veranda,

fields alive with blue violet

fill her heart with renewed

faith and affection;

as she sits sipping her

corn silk tea and munching

on peach puff pastries

Indigo friends visit

in the afternoons

They come to awaken her

to new potentialities

that she cannot see

When they are gone she

sits and contemplates their wisdom

The night sky emblazoned

with a zilllion stars

This, her world, filled with

colour, grace, and beneficence

Her imaginary homeland

by the sea

Note

An Indigo is a person who has come into

this world to change, and spiritually awaken,

humanity

 The water drops from

the falling rain

form concentric circles

On the surface of the lake

The wind a gentle

whisper in my ear

Burnt sienna

my favourite colour for bush

is  hidden here among

the  spruce and pine

The indigo sky purports a

Computer Woes

Who here has computer woes?

Are these help guys, friend or foe?

All instructions seem so vague

Sorting out’s a bloody plague

Now you’ve got it, now you don’t

First it will, then it won’t

Am I blind and fail to see

The dot or dash in front of me?

Oh, now I see, I found the clue

That reveals what I’m to do

I sigh relief and want to smile

But that wont happen

For awhile

I Forget

How can I forget
the troubles borne,
and yet I do
The struggle of the Covid ill
their here and now
and yet I do
That caution should be foremost
in this addled mind,
and yet I do
My eyes see flowers everywhere,
my head is in my dreams
of future schemes,
My heart is with my family,
many far away,
I should not crave
pre Covid life
and yet I do

Dictum

Feeding hungry mouths

no easy task

These aggressive

babes in the woods

There is no

no

Demand is constant

I’m curious

Do they have any thoughts?

These mothers in the wild

Do they resent their

babes constant needs?

I think not

Given that,

a mother’s love

bears all

Magnolia

 Seashell blossoms

on our magnolia tree

Sacrament of spring

with all her offerings

I refrain from

worrisome thoughts

as I breathe in the scents

It’s

an old cliche

that spring is for

 new beginnings

Nonetheless

it is

and ever

will be

His Eyes

A touch of green

sparkles within

her lover’s burly wood eyes

He seems to decipher

her every move and mood

His voice quavers amidst

their ardent intimacies

She remains pensive

in wonderment

Thus far unsubdued

yet all in

Death in the Afternoon

The pungent taste

 of chartreuse cocktails

matches their trenchant

remarks to one another

“Take no prisoners “

comes to mind

No harm left undone

She feels a mounting flush

He shifts obtrusively

The waitress hovers,

escapes

death in the afternoon

Mia Tenda

(my tent)

Nostalgia
overcomes me
a longing
for my wilderness
home
I ruminate on
the trees
the lake
the moldering leaves
my dog
The scents and scenes
slipping away
as
I rush
to catch
