Where is our Spring?
The sunshine and the falling rain
Where is our Spring?
The touch of warmth that it will bring
the tulips blooming near the lane
the smell of blossoms here again
Where is our Spring?

Our challenge for today from Marian, at Ordinary Garden with Real Toads
is to pick one, the roundel or the rondelet, and write one!
This works beautifully with this form. Longing and need perfectly expressed. And I think it is here in NC
ReplyDeletegood question! i am shivering today, while wearing a sweater and a wool skirt!
ReplyDeletebut, we know Spring *will* arrive. it's good to have some certainty, isn't it?
I too am waiting for spring and its colors here ~ Good work on the form ~
ReplyDeleteSpring must be very late if it has not been felt by April.
ReplyDeleteIt seems spring is a fickle lady this year. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteHaving the refrain as a question works so well. And those tulips enlarged..well. Aren't they lovely with that tiny red edging.
ReplyDeleteAn excellent rondelet--and I echo the sentiment. It only seems to warm up long enough to lure out the blossoms, then freeze them again.
ReplyDeleteThat's the question we're all asking...
ReplyDeleteI must tell you that this poem was perfect for my 'today' ... it snowed, it rained, the sun came out, we had a bit of sleet ... and now, everything is back to normal. However, spring has not come to Central Oregon yet.
ReplyDeletequite a wait the spring is giving...:)
ReplyDeleteAh, excellent rondelet and an excellent question!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Aprille. Brilliant idea making the refrain a recurring question!
ReplyDeleteYesterday's snow is gone here, and the sky is a lovely blue, but we're still getting deer coming into town to forage for fallen fruit under our ornamental crabapple tree. Spring will be next month in Alberta.
