Hold Out




I resist, to no avail,
this coming of a new age
again and again

Baby boomers
Generation X
Millennials
Me too

The politically correct
that changes daily
leaving  me adrift
in a sea of
perplexity

My body, too, 
unable to fend off
the inevitable
decline
into  the “golden age”

“Resistance is futile”

I smile

 and

 hold out
