History will be the Judge
No, this will not be, not if
history is written as it
has been until now
Written by the conquerors,
the powers that be, the
presidents, the dictators,
and pharaohs of the past
Failing to give credence
to the soldiers, the patriots,
the resistance workers, and all
who made the ultimate sacrifice
for their participation in wars
Who wrote for them? and if
one did, who assented to
the author’s truth
If history is to be the judge
the writers must move
to a more inclusive narrative,
acknowledging all sides
of the conflicts that
plague us
Only then will the world’s
populace become discerning,
enabled to influence change,
moving to create
an equitable
future for all

Absolutely right... it is the narrative that controls how the present events flow and how they will be perceived later.
