"Breathe-in experience, breathe-out Poetry" Muriel Rukeyser
Love how you managed to make it almost into found poetry... nothing really to add....
Your poem made me think of the only poetry class I've ever taken. Our professor would take us to graveyards to read epitaphs, then we would compose poetry. Years after that, I still visit graveyard and poetize last goodbyes...
That is so cool!
Such a melancholy place to be...
Such power in the brevity of your verse Linda!
This is stunning. Somber, and striking. There's something about that "Alas" that haunts more than the gravestones...
This is an amazing capture of season and emotion.
I love reading gravestones...especially the ones that give a little backstory...nice glimpse into this.
Yikes! A long winter, well conveyed. Thanks. k.
How cool and unexpected.
Beautifully done! I actually love old graveyards. Although melancholy, they are peaceful.
A dramatic final flourish. Winter gravestones add so much eerie depth to the poem.
Something hauntingly beautiful about this....
