Alas #2

Alas
I am
  still
settled in
reading
winter gravestones

"ellecees"

from Magaly
"today I wish us to
create poetry into which we weave
the titles of 3 of our poems"

Alas I ended up with more titles :-(

Day 10

  1. Love how you managed to make it almost into found poetry... nothing really to add....

  2. Your poem made me think of the only poetry class I've ever taken. Our professor would take us to graveyards to read epitaphs, then we would compose poetry. Years after that, I still visit graveyard and poetize last goodbyes...

  3. Such power in the brevity of your verse Linda!

  4. This is stunning. Somber, and striking. There's something about that "Alas" that haunts more than the gravestones...

  8. Beautifully done! I actually love old graveyards. Although melancholy, they are peaceful.

  9. A dramatic final flourish. Winter gravestones add so much eerie depth to the poem.
