Spring Haiku

Today lilies bloom
Petals open to the sun
A symbol of faith

spring arrived slowly
despite late frost sprouts push up
determined to bloom

I question the trees
So bountiful on our path
but the ferns respond

“Ellecee”

In response to today’s prompt from

imaginary garden with real toads

  1. I've always admired that determination (and beauty) of crocuses, the way they push through the cold... to welcome spring (and warm our hearts) even when winter refuses to fully die. Your second poem made me think of that. The last poem brews spring-green sighs out of me.

    These are yummy.

  2. Yes, sometimes we hope the trees will answer...but only the ferns response. Nicely done, each one!!

  3. I love all of these, but the last one is my favorite.

  4. Acute observations, all speaking to the optimistic nature of Spring.
