(Perth, Western Australia)
She met him in the modern way
Through poetry via satellite
their passions grew
and dreams too
She immigrated to Australia
Following her heart towards
a union of bliss
A mistake this
Their intimacy knew no bounds
Until his misogyny crept in
Her feminism crept out
Unluckily at loggerheads
too much pain
to sustain
She fled back to her old life
No, not really the same
She gave up all thought of unions
Too much despair
Don’t go there!
The final folly of her heart
brought relief
when all was said and done
From a fool’s paradise
to peace
at a price

Ah the folly of relationships! We have all had our share of misogynists haven't we?💝
ReplyDeleteWell, you have told my story in a nutshell, lol. Solitude is very peaceful. I much prefer it to all the angst. Well said.
ReplyDeleteA sad story ... but I guess this was a folly recovered from.
ReplyDeleteWell some men don't like strong women. Peace...yes, thank goodness she went back to it
