This Spring

“A small man, on a small planet, in an undistinguished corner of the Universe”

Joseph Yu

The Universe does not shudder at our causes and complaints.Spring sprouts regardless of our pain. Robins diligently search for worms; humming birds for nectar and nest sites. Nature is oblivious to car horns blaring “hello” on an empty Texan street, or singing voices breaking the silence in Italy, or a young woman in Canada leaving sandwiches for truckers on the steps of empty diners. To the Universe nothing matters concerning our existence.we, alone, create our own.

The Universe thrives
Each one must track his vision
connecting the chain

  1. The haiku is so potent in its message, Linda! Indeed, nature has its own way of running things 💘

  2. I love the sounds and image of ‘Spring sprouts regardless of our pain’. I’ve been watching a pair of robins in our garden, while reading about people in other countries, and how they cross the barriers of lockdown. A powerful, honest, realistic haibun.
