Imaginings

Cafe Terrace at Night (1888) Vincent Van Gogh

Again our eyes are drawn
to van Gogh’s starry sky,
his multiple shades of maize and blues
illuminating a quintessential street cafe
where people gather of an evening
to mingle and chat while savouring
their favourite wine
There are empty tables
where we could sit, but
not quite join, the
others at this  evening rendezvous
We would linger absorbing the ambience
surrounding us
 The scent of eventide,
the glow of gas lamps, the starry sky
We, mellowed by wine, a light touch
of hands, and each other,
Engrossed in making memories
to be savoured again and again
over time

  1. Soo gorgeous! I especially love; "The scent of eventide, the glow of gas lamps, the starry sky/We, mellowed by wine, a light touch of hands." 😍😍
