“Flaming June" by Frederic Leighton, 1895.

Sadly, she is overexposed,

Her recumbent figure

in full display

on prints, post cards, greeting cards,

and more

How would Mr. Leighton feel?

About this flagrant commercialism

of his Flaming June

Are artists’ egos up for

crass commercialism?

If they’re starving

maybe

Still it’s sad to see

as she is so beautiful and sensuous

and deserving of

 privacy.
