Epitaph

 

Here lies

Sally Neddy

Born February 1944

Died February 2024

A woman who tried

Right on 80

Who’d of thought it

Her death wasn’t easy

Her life neither

come to that

She liked to drink

and laid around some

Couldn’t blame her

really, the husband 

was scum

She leaves four living kids

Well adults really

Grandkids too

She did her best

should ignore the rest

Had no schooling that

was the problem

Couldn’t get good jobs and

it was hard going

She held up a good front

Not many were knowing

the things she had to,do

just to get through

She was a good friend

to me, the let downs

were few,  betrayals too,

But she still came through

when my times were rough

She’d hold my hand and

that was enough
