Movie Night

On the beach, Andy is sanding

that old boat

Red takes off his shoes and

walks  along the beach until

he  is greeting Andy 

with a big smile

face to face

they embrace

Fade out

We’ve been cuddled on

the sofa totally focused

right to the end

Now

My daughter says 

“So there”

“time for a drink”

I sigh

“me too”

and watch her

at the bar

tending

We’ve watched this film

 so many times

The violence, the chicanery,

the betrayals,

the escape

How do you make

so many

wrongs so right

and feel so good about it?

redemption?
