drops recovered, elbow held,
kisses requested
I was overwhelmed
suspicious of such gallantry
from one who
laughed loudly at racist jokes
and kicked begging bowls

Wow, it is confusing when a person holds such opposing qualities. In earlier years, he would have been looked on approvingly by many who also hold such views and think them acceptable which, of course, they are not. An intriguing response to the prompt.
