Sacrifice

How peaceful I feel
the stars my umbrella
the moon my faithful guide

I being one who is able
to contemplate this
whistful scene

Not so for some siblings
lost to the bellies
of owls and wolves

Guardian of this space
spare me
that sacrifice

"ellecee"

Inspired by today's prompt from
imaginary garden with real toads

  2. I love the voicve of the rabbit and hope she is spared, and stays peaceful. It's a dangerous world, for rabbits.

  5. The rabbit knows the way of the woods, and begs he can escape it. You have chosen a great voice for the image.

  6. your choice of narrative voice is wonderful - and certainly, you've painted a scene that speaks with both calm but tension ... and I particularly like the use of "lost" in the 3rd stanza, it speaks with a longing that is almost heartbreaking...

  7. Brave little bunny, Ellecee. But in the end the food chain wins.
