Affusion

Hot water
barely bearable
cascades over her body
secular affusion
washing away
negativity
perception willingly ascends
with the steam
her body releases itself
from angst, pity, doubt,
stoicism
embedded within
her zodiac sign
returns unfettered
tension disintegrates
leaving her world
momentarily
unscathed

  1. This is such a beautiful poem, Linda! I resonate with the idea of rinsing away doubt and angst from the zodiac. ❤️

  3. Oh, I love this. Nothing like a good shower to make one feel renewed, rejuvenated, rebooted!

Incidentally, I saw first your archive list below right, and it struck me that these titles make a great found poem. I can even see where to make verse breaks....

  4. I’m looking forward to that moment later this morning, Linda!

  5. I can relate to the effects of hot water showers and baths as therapy for stress!

Just a side note here, Linda. The picture you chose suits your theme very well but I did not feel comfortable sharing it as a thumbnail on my IG story because, out of context, the figure of the girl in the shower appears very young. That is my perception so I mean no offence to you. I have had trouble on that platform with several unsavoury characters trying to make contact with me. I hope you understand.

  6. A shower can both clean the body and the spirit... Yeah for a better outlook! I need one.
