Hunger

 

We the fortunate

What do we 

hunger for?

A finer home

A cottage on 

a lake

A vacation to

foreign lands

Preferably developing

nations where the

topography is beautiful

and artifacts are cheaper

Some of us are altruistic

and we hunger to be

helpful to those of us

less fortunate

In our communities

and beyond

Others may feel impotent

Why in these musings

and reflections

does hunger invariably 

become

a noun?
