Cabined

“but now I am cabined, cribbed, confined, bound in to saucy doubts and fears”

William Shakespeare - Macbeth

Today I graft with
words in homage to
the Bard
whose language lives
to this day and bears
truth to every happening

Now I  am cabined here alone
cribbed by a hovering virus
Confined with my own thoughts
how one cunning crazed maniac
could kill 22 without restraint
Our townsmen and guardians
fallen and gone
Incongruity abounds
Saucy doubts and fears
reign unfettered
during this
unearthly time

  1. Shakespearean words put to great use.
Condolences on the loss of life at violent hands - awful and tragic, in times already sorrowful.

  4. Shakespeare's words to describe such a modern tragic time... So sorry the hell we know in the states is now hurting the heart of Canada

  5. How absolutely horrific that the Bard's words ring so true. The inhumanity of humans in these carnages is unthinkable. Somehow, we must rid ourselves, this earth, of these kinds of events. A very powerful write, Linda.

  6. Great use of Shakespearean words, Linda. I especially like the use of alliteration in the lines:
‘Now I am cabined here alone
    cribbed by a hovering virus’.
How terrifying the shooting must have been! It is indeed an unearthly time.
