Parallel

The incessant catastrophes
of war and climate change
continue to devastate much
of our world

Some are spared the
desolations of conflict but
climate change is global

Which hosts our most dominant fear?

Climate changes are prolonged
and the path persistent, the
metamorphose anxiety inducing,
soon to be alarming

War is immediate, here now,
Its atrocities visual worldwide
The losses, death, destruction,
dislocation, refugees, hunger,
annihilation

Immediate
Now

Hibernate

What can I do?

What I can’t do is
elementary
FrustrationI am not a politician or
a person of power
A delegated one who
changes circumstances
Is that what
delegates do?
I can’t or I don’t want
to understand
Ebrahim Raisi
Isaac Herzog
Or any other combatants
willing to lay waste
I can’t change the
deep despondency
proliferating among us
like another plague
And so on
and so on
What can “I” do?
Hibernate

Cabined

“but now I am cabined, cribbed, confined, bound in to saucy doubts and fears”

William Shakespeare - Macbeth

Today I graft with
words in homage to
the Bard
whose language lives
to this day and bears
truth to every happening

Now I  am cabined here alone
cribbed by a hovering virus
Confined with my own thoughts
how one cunning crazed maniac
could kill 22 without restraint
Our townsmen and guardians
fallen and gone
Incongruity abounds
Saucy doubts and fears
reign unfettered
during this
unearthly time
